6th Grade “Challenge”
So, are you ready to accept the 6th grade challenge?
- I will keep my cell phone off and in my backpack at all times during school hours.
- I will not lie and/or cheat.
- I will arrive to school on time and I will be prepared for class.
- I will demonstrate a serious and responsible attitude in my daily work.
- My homework is carefully and thoughtfully completed and is turned in on time.
- I will practice good classroom etiquette, such as, sitting quietly at my desk, raising my hand to speak, not interrupting my teacher or others, not shouting out answers, and not wear a hat indoors.
- I will not be afraid to ask for help if I do not understand and I will be respectful to other peoples’ learning.
- I will not say the 4 “S’s”- (“swear”, “stupid”, “sucks”, or “shut up!”)
- I will not break school rules: the dress code, chew gum, or bring candy to school.
- I will take care of my personal hygiene: bath/shower, brush my teeth, dress in clean clothes, wash my hair, wear deodorant, etc…
- I will not bring toys, iPads, iPods, hand pencil sharpeners, or other items that are not on the school supply list given to me by my teacher at the beginning of the school year.
- I will not eat food in the classroom or on the playground.
- I will not do disgusting things, such as, pick my nose in class, let my nose run, or have hands dirty.
- I will be polite to my peers and ALL adults on campus.
- I will take pride in all my work!
- I will pay attention!
- I will respect other people’s property and personal space.
- I will not physically or verbally fight with people.
- I will take care of all classroom and school supplies and school property.
- I will not bully people, such as, purposefully tease or hurt someone else’s feelings, just to make them feel bad.
- I will walk in line when told by an adult to do so.
- I will act appropriately during an assembly or any other special school event.
- I will not play around in the school bathrooms or school hallways.
- I will not run through the school’s hallways or on the stairs.
- I will read 3 to 5 times per week, even when I don’t want to.
- I will continue to practice my math facts, even though I think I know them.
- I will always be willing to help others who need help.
- I will always be courteous and use good manners, even when I’m tired or grumpy.
- I will apologize when I make a mistake.
- I will go to bed at a decent time, so I will be ready for school, ready to learn, and ready to face the day to make my teacher happy! ☺
